Cheap Auto Insurance -- Actions For Cheaper Rates

By Chimezirim Gabriel Odimba

You can bring down your rates dramatically by compromising the level of coverage you get. That's NOT advisable. But there's a smarter way: Implement the right tips and do a few things right and you'll get huge discounts I'll explain how...

1. People who have more than one vehicle will make considerable savings if they insure all those cars with the same auto insurance provider. You are only advised to do otherwise if the total of your premiums across different insurance companies is less than what you'll be given with a multi-vehicle discount if you buy from one insurance company. You can be sure by simply doing a little research before taking this step. But if you don't intend to shop around, you can be sure that you'll still save considerably with a multi-vehicle discount.

2. We all are aware of the fact that hardly any other age bracket pays as much for auto insurance as those who are below 25 years of age. If you fall into this age bracket you can get lower rates if you keep getting good grades at school.

You must have a grade point not lower than B to enjoy this good student discount. For those who meet this eligibility requirement, you can expect discounts of about 5 percent. This discount is given because insurance providers think there is a correlation between good grades and a young person's composure behind wheels. It's difficult to meet reckless young drivers who maintain wonderful grades.

3. Does your child not drive the vehicle for a reasonable period? Then you should get a discount for this. If your child is is away at school then you should discuss with your agent about the possibility of getting this discount. While you should try, you must bear in mind that this is not one of several usual discounts that all insurance carriers give.

4. It is less expensive to insure a car if you reside in a rural area. It makes sense to live in a less congested area if it suits you since the risk of vandalism, theft or collision is far lower.

5. Under-25 drivers get higher rates than any other age group. More so, the younger an under-25 driver, the more they'd have to pay. That is why teenagers pay a lot more than 22-year olds.

This means that you'll help keep your rates down if you do NOT have a teen driver on your policy. It will drive it up by a huge margin. You can discuss with your agent about signing an exclusion form so that your teen driver can have his/her own auto policy.

It's a fair price for them to pay to enjoy the adult privilege of driving. This act will save you more than money as your teen driver will happily listen when suggestions are made on things that will bring down the high rates they pay. This by extension means that such a teen driver will be more responsible behind wheels since they bear the full cost of their actions. - 21393
