What Is Better Then A Yukon
When you are looking at yukons and yukon denalis, you are really just looking at GMs models of SUVs. You might even think that the yukon looks like the tahoe, because it is really just a fancier version. And of course that would make the yukon XL the upscale chevy suburban. And the denali is just one step up above the yukons in class.
With the yukon xl, you got a couple of choices in models, from the half ton 1500 to the 3/4 ton 2500. The denalis get front row bucket seats standard, and there are optional for the yukons. The second row also has the option for bucket seats instead of a bench. And the third row gets a bench in the yukon xls and denalis, but is optional in the regular yukon.
No matter what you go with, you're gonna get a v8 engine. Standard, you will get a 4.8l 285 hp engine, but you can upgrade to a 295 hp 5.3l if you want. The yukon xl autmatically get the 5.3l engine. And the denalis got 10 more hp from the previous model, up to 335 hp. And the yukon xl 2500 gets the 6.0l 325 hp engine standard, with the option for the big whopper of 8.1l engine.
Everyone one of these models will come with automatic transmissions setup with GM's tow haul mode. Of course you get all wheel drive included with the denali. With the yukon you can get either gms autotrac 4 wheel drive or rear wheel drive. The 2500 yukon xls that have 2wd get traction control.
All models have antilock 4-wheel disc brakes and a tire-pressure monitor. GM's Stabilitrak antiskid system became standard for Yukon 1500 and Denali models during the '05 model year. Front side airbags are standard on Denalis, available elsewhere. Optional for XL 2500s is GM's Quadrasteer 4-wheel steering, which reduces the turning circle at low speeds and is designed to enhance stability at higher speeds and when towing.
Yukons get standard 16-inch wheels or optional 17s. Denalis have standard 17-inch wheels. Chrome-finished 20-inch alloy wheels are newly available for Denalis. GM's OnStar assistance is standard on all models.
The fancier denali models get standard a multizone climate system and adjustable pedals. If you want, you can get these on the yukon as an optional. Another option available for any of these models is a touch screen navigation system.
We have no specifics yet about the redesign itself, but look for huskier styling, slightly larger dimensions, and a possible switch to independent rear suspension. The last would help ride and handling and also make room for a fold-flush 3rd-row seat to match Ford Expedition. A new "strong hybrid" gas-electric powertrain option is rumored for some near-term point. - 21393
