How Can You Make Your Car Cup Holder More Productive?
Cup Holders in automobiles have become a standard design. However, limiting yourself to just a cup or bottle is a waste of your car?s potential. Being useful for coins, trash, and high tech devices are just a few other examples. With multiple searches on the topic, here are some of the more popular results.
Sitting in your car as you make that dreary drive to the office is a chore, but wouldn?t it be even worse if you didn?t have a place for your coffee, soda, or wake-up call energy drink? The most likely use is for food and drink, so likely that once they were included, the auto industry began putting cup holders in all their designs. Until a spill occurs, you?ve probably forgotten your cup holder was even there.
As technology advances, so does our need for it, and our most useful inventions, cell phones and PDA?s, fit nicely in the cup holder. The position being centrally located helps us never miss a call. (Many states are passing "hands free" laws regarding cell phone usage, and although I agree we should be driving first, texting later, the cup holder is still a logical place to store these types of devices.) The number of cup holders included in cars has also increased, so often times more than just the two devices mentioned above can travel with you, like mp3 players, hand held gaming consoles, or even small video players.
Change was another common treasure found in cup holders. Some of us might remember our university days, when change was a precious commodity. There only ever seemed to be pennies though, with the occasional nickel, and even the rarer dime, that was so dirty it would blend in with the pennies. Personally it isn?t an odd occurrence for me to count out twenty five or more pennies while waiting for my combo meal at the drive-thru.
There?s one last topic, and probably the most creative. Various articles on the web describe a laptop tray that extends from the cup holder in your car. Constructed of PVC pipe, duct tape, and glue, this inventive use is described as making the morning commute more exciting. Cool idea or not, I don?t promote using any device while the car is on, or more importantly while it is in motion. For more information (or to see a picture with a detailed description) search ?cup holder laptop tray? on any search engine. - 21393
