Learn How To Understand A CarFax Report

By Eric Thor

If you are in the market to buy a used automobile, you MUST understand the CF (CF) report that each used car MUST have. CarFax is either supplied free, by the seller, or you, the buyer, must pay for the report. There is a recap page or two that summarizes the 25 page CF report. The report has 6 divisions:

Vehicle History Report. This is the first page of the CF and the most important! This page at once sums up the total CarFax if 1) service records available, 2) number of previous owners, 3) if the car was leased or corporate vehicle, 4) any accidents, 5) detail event records 6) last odometer reading. Is the car a turkey or should you expend more time doing research - CF provides immediate answers.

A summary of 1) title problems, 2) ownership history, and 3) other data follow. Critical items that CarFax has found can be investigated in just seconds. Items CF has determined need to be investigated are highlighted - this saves a lot of time and that's the secret of CarFax.

The Details section, below the Vehicle History Report, shows all events, like accidents, change in ownership, state inspections, etc. in one handy area. Each owner of the automobile has a segment with all the details CarFax has accumulated.

Vehicle Highlights. There are many segments in Vehicle Highlights. The latest mileage and the number of past owners is summarized in the Ownership History section. State DMV-Reported Title Problems is an enormous important section. Check if the car's title has been reclassified into: Salvage, Junk, Rebuilt, Fire/Flood, Hail Damage, or Buyback/Lemon titles. Bypass this used car, if this has occurred.

Warranty Check. This is a very clever section that shows different kinds of warranty coverage and if there is some warranty left. Eliminate or confirm any seller's claim about warranties in this section. Basic coverage, coverage of the Drive Train, Emissions coverage, Corrosion coverage, and if any of the warranties are transferrable are some of the types of warranty reporting tracked by CF.

Safety & Reliability Ratings. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety crash tests are covered in this wonderful section. Just how safe this used car is to drive is covered by front, side, and rear crash results.. Collision, Theft Indicator, and Injury section rates this used car against all cars and gives you guideposts as to this automobile's rating - below average, average, or better than average. Manufacturer recalls and if they were done to the car are covered in the Safety Recall section. The last section has a wealth of information - the J.D. Power Rating of this car type.

Buyback Guarantee Certificate (Optional). CarFax will buyback the car, if the used car qualifies if they screwed up with damage warnings, odometer readings, titles, or a Lemon History reporting. Some cars flunk and this should be your test too - if CarFax won't issue a Buyback Guarantee then you should NOT purchase that used automobile.

Consumer Ratings & Comments. Feedback from other automobile owners of this same model, make, and year of automobile are in this final segment. Believe me that car owners who dislike something about this make of automobile will take the time to alert folks like you. Likewise, if you wind up buying the automobile and find problems you can go into CarFax and warn other folks not to buy this kind of automobile. - 21393

Credit, Credit Scores, Credit Reports

By John Slidenger

Borrowing money is very tough in this economic environment but it's not impossible. If you have good credit scores, you will still get a good rate and be able to buy a house or your dream car. Here are several ways which you can accomplish this.

Credit monitoring services like ones from myFICO is very good because it automatically keeps track of your credit report and alerts you whenever there are any changes. You can of course choose to do it yourself but that's 1000x harder.

Of course, there's always the free credit report that you can get from each of the three credit report agencies per year. To maximize the benefit, separate the time that you get the reports. For example, get one in January, then another one in May and another one in September so you are on top of your credit.

Lenders will just pull your report when you request a loan, so if you are maxed out on your credit, they see it as a no-no. It doesn't really matter if you pay off your credit cards every month because the utilization rate will be very high.

Don't always try to apply for credit cards. Every time you apply for these cards, the companies will pull your credit report and that puts a mark on your credit. If there are many of these pulls in quick succession, the credit score will suffer because it is believed that only people who really need money will apply for so many lines of credit at the same time.

Inactive cards will eventually be flagged by the credit card companies and be canceled. The credit report will just say canceled by card company without any explanation so use all your cards in regular intervals.

Remember to apply for a few credit cards and have some lines of credit available even if you don't need it. I used to only have one card and one day I was denied for my business credit card because they told me I only have 1 credit card and haven't shown that I can pay off debt, even though I have tons of cash in my bank account.

Even though too much debt will curtail the total amount that you can borrow, having them will help increase the chances that you will get approved because lenders know that someone who have multiple forms of debt are used to paying them and won't freak out when the bills arrive in the mail. - 21393

I Stumbled and Look What I Found.

By Julia Easton

I recently sold my car on stumblehere.com. I was very surprised by this, thinking that since this was not a name of a website that I was familiar with. I was scared that I was wasting my money. Well I will be the first to tell you how wrong I was.

I posted my ad on kijiji and somebody contacted me saying they we using stumblehere.com with great success.

I did not want to listen to some sales speach about how stumblehere was a place to sell my stuff. The last thing I wanted to do was post more ads.

But I finally listened and decided to try out the classified ad syndication. I learned that ad syndication is all about getting my ad on all of the high traffic sites. As long as my stuff sells I am happy.

I was finally interested. The way he explained it to me was that after I create a login and post a Betterpost ad that it will then be part of their syndication efforts. Knowing and after he told me that it is in their best interest to get it on as many websites as possible. To make me want to continue coming back and using them as my main ad website.

Not only did I sell my vehicle, but I sold it fast. I got enough calls to get a full price offer. Thanks stumblehere. - 21393

Automobile Storage Tips to Keep Your Vehicle Secure

By Susan Crawford

Protecting your vehicle from serious damage while storing it at a vehicle storage facility is very important. There are certain things that you need to do to prevent your vehicle's battery from corroding and leaking. There are also ways you can prevent moisture from building and your gas getting sticky.

Things to be sure to do and the kinds of storage available:

1. Be sure and fill your car with gas to eliminate any empty space in the tank. This is because the empty space can cause moisture build up with will end of causing the inside of the tank to rust. Another great tip is to pour in a fuel stabilizing product that stops oxidation. This is what helps to keep your gas from getting sticky while sitting still.

2. Remove parking brake! Never use your parking brake when storing your vehicle. Not only is it unnecessary, but it can cause your brake pads from becoming melded to the rotors. This can cause real problems when trying to remove the parking brake.

3. Clean, wash and wash your car. Remove all traces of food as well as dirty or damp floor mats. Otherwise, moisture will build up within the car and can cause serious damage. Keeping the outside of your car clean and waxed will help to prevent corrosion.

4. Pick a vehicle storage location that is right for you. Many storage locations offer different benefits and features depending on what you are looking for. One of the most common is storage types. In our next few tips, we will talk about the various storage types you will find.

5. Covered - This is not entirely enclosed storage, but at least it gives your vehicle a roof to sit under. This helps to protect it from the elements. It's a decent type of storage, but does not have as many benefits as entirely enclosed storage.

6. Entirely enclose storage - This type of storage is pretty much a garage for your car. It's locked up and no one can see or access your vehicle except for you. It protects your car from all the elements and it's the best type of storage you can find.

7. In the Open Storage - Storing your vehicle without a cover is not recommended for extended periods of time. The best use for this type of storage is for short term or if you are going to store items like boat trailers, flat bed carriers or utility trailers.

One of the main things to remember is to try and minimize moisture as best you can. This helps to prevent rust from building and corrosion from occurring. Follow these tips listed above and it will help keep your vehicle in great condition for when you are ready to use it again. - 21393

Examining Modern Motorscooters

By Mike Scott

In the 1920s, most parts of the world were undergoing the changes resulting from the industrial revolution. Countries like Britain, France and the United States had already made giant strides in this field. Other parts of the globe like the Far East were also experiencing an industrial re-awakening of their own. Taiwan is one of these countries. Today, it is one of the leading exporters of manufactured goods to the rest of the world. One of Taiwan's leading contributions to the industrial revolution is the scooter. This was a product of an engineer called Gino Tsai, who worked for the J.D. Corporation.

The first scooters were foot powered. This means they were not motorized. The technology to motorize the scooters actually emerged later. Gino'd motivation was basically to get to work on time. In these early days of the industrial revolution, numerous factories were being created which required labor. Most people in these times lived in the rural areas and had to commute long distances to get to work. Every morning saw long streams of day workers walking to their jobs and back home again. Gino's invention was geared to alleviate this and that is why the scooter became a popular buy.

Today, scooters have revolutionized the way people commute. A cross between a bicycle and a regular motor cycle, today's scooters, while still resembling their earlier counterparts, are motor powered. In many major world cities, the scooters are one of the most major ways of getting around. This is because cars are still too expensive for the average worker and the income per capita is still low. Let us examine the reason behind the buzz that is sweeping the world regarding motor scooters.

Fuel Efficiency The recent global economic crisis has become an item of focus for many people. This has been caused by the high price gasoline. Gasoline is the lifeline of many world economies and this increase in price has caused financial hardship for many. It is no longer uncommon to see people looking for new and innovative ways of saving money especially in the area of commuting. Motor scooters are a sure way to do this. Their fuel efficient nature is one of the best ways of cutting down on the cost of commuting.

Cheap to maintain Scooters are easier to maintain than motor vehicles. It is not a secret that a motor vehicle can easily cost hundreds of dollars to repair when it breaks down. Motor scooters are easy to maintain because their mechanical configuration is simpler. The total sum of its parts is also much less than those of a motor vehicle. This means that workers with a low income and who cannot afford to buy and maintain a car can easily afford a motor scooter.

Convenient Scooters are very convenient. This means that if you live in a city with a traffic problem, a scooter can be ideal especially when it comes to manuevering your way through traffic. That is why cities which experience issues with traffic have a large number of motor scooters. - 21393
