Unless You're Wearing A Badge My Driving Is My Own Business

By John Robertson

Well, they say learning to drive should result in you becoming a good driver. How well you end up driving is a good question. It all depends. Most people learn to operate a motor vehicle, also known as driving, without the help of professionals. Sound advice is that a spouse should never be your driving instructor. However, teens realize driving is their first taste of real freedom. Thus, it is common for this learning curve and skill to be accomplished in the early years.

Beginning soon I will decide when and where to go for a change. There are places I have been studying where young people can go and not be disturbed. Also, being a big fan of auto racing makes me itch to jam my foot down on the accelerator and fly low to the ground. Perhaps I can buy my own vehicle and put decals and a favorite driver number on it.

Using the public highways gets you where you want to go but puts you in contact with lots of others. Emergency vehicles, school buses, law enforcement, national leaders and mostly ordinary people ride the roads. When you stint on your driving education and aren't sure if a certain sign is merely warning you or telling you it is a law, trouble is brewing. Passing a stopped school bus isn't just reckless it may take the life of a youngster. Driving faster than the posted limit isn't smart either.

Put the point of a compass used to draw circles on the center of a large city. Draw a small circle and then a series of larger circles. Color the innermost circle red. Color the outgoing circles progressively less bright colors. You should see in your mind the red circle crowded with very aggressive drivers filled with road rage. Perhaps it is the competitive way they must live to earn a living and survive. In any case, no new driver should go near this area.

If you were dozing off in science class and missed the lessons about forces on moving objects you will be at a disadvantage to understanding why your vehicle left the road on that sharp curve. Centrifugal force charges everyone the same fees. Going faster coming out of curves will hold your vehicle on the road. Seems like slowing down would be better you say?

When you pick up a magazine written for car enthusiasts one of the first things mentioned for each model is acceleration. Much more important to the novice driver is stopping ability. "What goes up must come down" used to always be true. Much more the case is if you can't stop it you may have had your next to last ride. The hearse is last.

Air bags, seat belts, steering columns that collapse and don't impale drivers have all added to driving safety. However, the biggest safety feature in highway travel has always been the driver. Recently use of cell phone and even texting while driving has created the so-called perfect storm.

Some years ago a concerned father bought his new driver daughter the heaviest car he could find. Safety was the goal. Unfortunately, a truck hit her and her friends broadside. The mass of the truck trumped the heavy sedan. Never lose your fear of the other guy while driving and keep the odds on your side by playing it smart. Drive defensively. - 21393

By Zach Lee

I think we can all agree that we can't live without our cars. They are too vital to everything we do, especially if you live in a place that doesn't have good public transportation, like New York.

When your car or truck breaks down or you get in a car accident, you often find yourself in a panic if you don't have other means of transportation. You worry how much it will cost to fix your car and you worry about who you can trust. Let's face it; we all hear stories of people getting ripped off by someone that worked on their car. That is no longer the case for those of you in Utah because there is a lot quality auto repair Utah has to offer.

The first thing you should do is check the services they offer. They should have a wide variety of services such as frame alignment, painting, paint-less dent repair, custom painting, custom stripes, and detailing, just to name a few.

In order to do so, you need to do some research to ensure quality. Here are couple things you should look into. First, they should offer a wide variety of services, such as: like frame alignment, paint jobs, paint-less dent repair, engine work, custom stripes, detailing and more. This will show you the level of versatility of the shop.

Second, you need to know if your shop belongs to some reputable associations like the Better Business Bureau (BBB), the Chamber of Commerce, the Auto Service Association (ASA), Collision Industry Conference (CIC), or the National Auto Body Council.

Third, you should check the certification of those working there, or the technicians. Are they gold certified? Do they have any awards for customer service? Look for these types of things to know how reputable they are. Also, check to see how well they will work with you and your insurance company because if they are difficult this can be a headache for you.

Fourth, check to see what equipment they use. This will tell you how up-to-date they are with techniques and procedures. You want to know that they will take care of you and your car and you get the most bang for buck. State-of-the-art equipment will ensure quality installations and repairs.

Finding the Right Auto Bulbs for Your Car

By David Ostiguy

We're sure that you've seen the Automotive Chrome Bulbs installed on cars before. These are the bulbs that blend themselves into the rest of the clear or smoky lenses that are installed to the turn signals. If you haven't seen them before, we know that you will. There are a ton of car manufacturers that have been paying attention and installing clear side lenses to today's vehicles. The only problem is they're still installing those ugly yellow bulbs into the clear lenses. We're here to tell you that it doesn't have to look like this.

The company, Stealth Auto has created Chrome Bulbs that are almost invisible and blends in with any sort of lenses you have on your turn signals. The coolest part of it is they're completely street legal. When the turn signal is activated, the bulb lights up yellow/amber, but the second it's turned off, the bulb shows no hint of yellow.

Other competing companies that offer Chrome Bulbs still have a small hint of yellow to their bulbs when they're off. If you've always wondered what bulbs to get, Stealth Auto's Chrome Bulbs are the way to go.

This modification is easy to do and can be done in less than an hour. Even though the modification is easy, it will still add a nice look to your vehicle that everyone will take notice. Adding an HID Conversion Kit to your vehicle and your ride is going to look like it's from the future.

Once you add these simple modifications to your vehicles, I guarantee that your friends and neighbors will be doing the same.

If you're adding new lights to a BMW, you will see that with the newer models has no wiring involved. It's as simple as taking the part off and snapping in the bulb. It doesn't get any easier than that. BMW's use something called a Lighting Control Module, also known as LCM, which controls all the lights on the car. The thing that makes it really cool is that the LCM is capable of sending signals to the lamps and lights. If the lights don't respond to the computer, the LCM will let the driver know that the light is faulty.

Whether you're installing lights for your BMW, Mercedes, Toyota, Ford, or Chevy, you'll find just about every auto accessory on the market here. - 21393

Important Lease And Finance Tips

By Ulster Nol

You should think twice before putting money down on a lease: not only are you getting a rough deal, as you're essentially forfeiting the general rule of leasing: not putting any cash upfront, but the money is not recoupable at the end of your lease. Then you should take a look at instant same day loans or mortgage deals

Even people working from home have little trouble putting 15,000 miles on their cars. If you exceed the mileage limit, the penalty for each excess mile can be as high as 20 cents. This can add up quickly over the length of your lease: an additional 4,000 miles a year over the length of a 3-years lease contract, will end up costing you an extra $2,400 in excess mileage charges!

Be realistic about your mileage needs, especially if you have to regularly commute over long-distances, before you sign the contract. Consider padding he miles that you expect to use since it is less expensive to contract for the extra before you sign than it is to pay the extra charges at end of your lease.

Make sure you carefully read the fine print for any extra, hidden costs not included in the advertised monthly payment. Unscrupulous fees that typically slip through the cracks include sales tax, registration and title fees.

Depreciation fee: Forms part of the monthly lease payment charge and accounts for the loss in the value of the car at the end of the lease. The vehicle's list price minus the expected residual value at lease end is divided by the number of months in the lease to give the depreciation fee.

Suppose you decide to lease a vehicle with a retail price of $23,500. The leasing company estimates that after a three year lease, the vehicle will be worth 35% of its original retail value, or $8,225. The difference, $15,275, divided by the number of months in the lease, 36 months, gives us the depreciation fee ($424)

The jury, however, is still out on leasing: with the industry long on hype and short on detail, it is difficult to distinguish between a genuinely good deal and a downright up-selling exercise.

Security deposits an up-front amount that your leasing company required at the beginning of a lease to safeguard against non-payment. This is generally refundable at the end of your lease. Termination or Disposition fee The amount you have to pay the leasing company at the end of your lease if you decide not to purchase the vehicle. - 21393
