Cheap Car Insurance: Find Out How To Save Money on Something You Must Have

By Paul Amador

Decisions, decisions, decisions. People who buy a vehicle always have plenty of decisions to make in regards to their purchase. The fun things are choosing a make, model and color. Options are also exciting. However, there is another decision that is not considered fun to make, but it is very necessary. This decision is securing insurance for the vehicle. The best thing to do is to determine how much the annual insurance premiums will be on a vehicle that you are contemplating purchasing. Annual insurance premiums can range anywhere from what is considered cheap car insurance at slightly over four thousand dollars to over ten thousand dollars.

To get a specific idea of which type of vehicles command the highest annual insurance premiums and which command cheap car insurance, you can look at the table below which details the information. Insurance.com is responsible for the information being made available for review. The table specifies which vehicles in each of the following groups: Passenger Cars, Trucks, Sports Cars, Crossover/SUVs and Vans/Wagons are the most expensive and the cheapest to insure annually. The groups are broken down even further into Large, Midsize and Small classifications.

Here's how the average annual premium for each of these groups broke out:

Group Highest Premiums Cheapest Premiums

Lg. Crossover/SUV: Mercedes-Benz G-Class $2,088 Hyundai Veracruz $977

Midsize Crossover/SUV: Infiniti EX $1,306 Hyundai Santa Fe $832

Small Crossover/SUV: Mazda Tribute Hybrid $ 1,372 Kia Sportage $840

Lrg. Passenger: Audi S8 $2,071 Pontiac Grand Prix $902

Midsize Passenger: Audi S6 $1,571 Subaru Legacy $962

Small Passenger: Volkswagen Eos $1,198 Kia Rio5 $870

Small Truck: Chevrolet Colorado $1,147 Mazda Truck $957

Lrg. Van/Wagon: BMW 5-Series Sports Wagon $1,153 Chevy Uplander $831

A large vehicle such as the Mercedes Benz G-Class Sport Utility Vehicle will cost you over two thousand dollars per year in annual insurance premiums. It is, in fact, one of the most expensive vehicles listed to insure, and is not considered to be cheap car insurance. However, you will shell out even more cash if you choose to be the proud owner of a fast moving sports car called a Dodge Viper convertible. This car commands a hefty annual insurance premium of $2,580.

Audi, surprisingly, will set you back the greatest amount each year in both the large and midsize passenger car categories. The popular Cadillac Escalade EXT, categorized as a truck in this survey, seems almost modestly priced at $ 1,592 per year.

You can insure the large BMW 5 Series Sports Wagon for a reasonable rate of $1,153. This vehicle is categorized as part of the Large Van and Wagon Group. Another vehicle from this same group is the Chevy Uplander which actually has the cheapest car insurance premiums of any vehicle on the list at $831 per year. - 21393

How To Use A Speed Camera Detector Which Speed Camera Detector

By Tom McMyers

Time are hard enough in the UK without the extra expenditure of fines. The fines coming in the form of speeding offences. In many cases, people are frustrated and surprised when they realise that they have just been caught speeding, because they believed it to be safe. The reality is that speed cameras are everywhere, and so are the speed traps.

Most people are aware of speed traps, although they pay little respect to them and drive in blissful ignorance! Unfortunately, this attitude isn't helpful because the rate of increase of speeding traps and speed cameras is growing - and growing fast! Speeding offences is a big revenue earner for the government, which you shouldn't forget.

To understand speed camera detectors, you should understand a bit about the technologies involved. Current speed cameras are of various natures. The most common type (the Gatso) is a type of speed detector that emits a laser burst against a vehicle. The returned signal tells the speed camera how fast the vehicle is travelling. Similarly, there are radar burst speed cameras that use bursts of radar to do the same thing. Some speed cameras use two cables stretched across the highway to detect a vehicles speed. When a vehicle hits the cables, the speed can be determined and the speed camera notified. The last common speed camera utilizes time stamped photos to determine a vehicles speed. It takes a picture of the vehicle on two spots on the road and then compares the time stamp.

If you had to have a speeding companion, then I'm sure you'll probably agree that a speed camera detector would be the wisest choice at this moment in time. There are a plethora of speeding monitoring devices out there, all waiting to get a slice of your wallet. A speed camera detector is a good choice to proactively protect your finances and increase safety.

The different manufacturers of speed camera detectors use differing technologies, which is evolving. Some manufacturers use a combination of laser and radar detection technology, and others use a global/UK database, or as an addition. The best devices, as you can probably guess, use a combination of both. The buying decision largely comes down to your budget.

In case you don't know yet, speed camera detectors ARE Legal. This is fantastic news, especially if you didn't realise already, as now there is no need to be caught in a speeding trap. or by a speeding camera. In fact, you are probably going to be more in tune with your surrounding and conscious of how you are driving.

There is some legislation that is being considered to limit radar jamming devices, but the future of all other types of speed camera detectors is not in question. So you should feel perfectly comfortable fighting against speed camera traps with your very own little speed camera detector friend. When purchasing a speed camera detector, keep in mind that there are often yearly fees with the types that update the speed camera database. It is a small price to pay for staying in the loop whenever new speed cameras are installed.

On top of that functionality, speed camera detectors are also incorporated into navigational devices. With this kind of tracking, your device will not just warn you about speed camera traps, but it will warn you when you are over the speed limit no matter what road you are on. To take it a step further, speed camera detectors may find their way into the mobile phone and mobile PDA market. There may be a time when youll simply put your cell phone up on your dashboard to be your navigator, communicator and speed trap detector! Believe me, the time isnt so far off!

If you already have one of these devices that informs you of your speed, when you've taken a wrong turn and when you're approaching a speed trap, then you'll know just how good they are. If you haven't got one, ask someone that has if they could survive without it now.

If you haven't got a speed camera detector, go and get one. Seriously, if you are a regular driver this will be a worthwhile investment for you. - 21393

Beware Of Budget Car Insurance

By Susan Reynolds

We all would like more affordable car insurance. You will find several budget car insurance companies attracting customers with promises of low monthly rates and ridiculously low deductibles. You should know that the type of coverage they are offering you for these low rates is insufficient coverage and will mean more out of pocket cost to you when filing a claim.

The majority of budget car insurance companies are offering only liability insurance that meets the legal requirements of your state. This leaves a huge gap in coverage that could cost you thousands.

The state minimum is liability insurance and what that means is anytime you are involved in an accident that is determined to be your fault any repairs that are needed to your vehicle or injuries you sustain will be your financial responsibility. If you hurt others in the accident your insurance may not be enough to cover their medical costs and you are at risk of losing everything you own in order to pay for them.

Damages your vehicle encounters that are not your fault but are due to hail, wind, or vandalism will not be covered in your policy and the cost of repair will be yours to bear. Liability insurance does not pay for damage to your vehicle no matter how it occurred. So if you drive off the road in an ice storm and hit a tree any damages to the vehicle, injuries to yourself, or cost of the tree will be yours to pay and yours alone.

There are too many drivers on the road who have budget insurance and this means if you are insured with the same type of insurance coverage and are hit by them that any repairs or medical costs their insurance will not pay for you will be liable for on your own. You will have no protection for underinsured motorists or uninsured motorists with these lower priced policies. Any type of accident, your fault or someone elses could end up costing you thousands of dollars and put all your assets at risk.

If you vehicle is stolen you will receive no coverage for your loss. In most cases you will never recover the vehicle and replacing it will be your responsibility. If you are able to recover the vehicle you will be responsible for the repairs from any damage it may have suffered.

That low deductible you were given is nothing more than a scam. No type of claim will require a deductible to be paid since you are responsible for all the damage that occurs to your vehicle. That low deductible amount is just used as a tactic to make you believe you are receiving an awesome policy when in fact you actually receiving nothing for your hard earned cash.

It is not legal to drive without insurance so the budget car insurance companies designed policies only to keep you legal. They offer no real protection to your property or any of your assets. - 21393

One Way Car Rentals Help!

By Anne Durrell

A lot of car rental businesses offer one way car rentals that give us the alternative of driving to our end and then simply turn the rental car back over to the company we rented it from.

Perhaps you are across the country or just in another state and need to rent a car to reach your destination but then do not need the car to go back. If you need to move, renting a car just one way can save you a good deal of money.

One way car rentals are a deal you make with the rental company. The rental company will put some restrictions, which you will have to adhere to.

You can pay one-way car rentals you make with either a big deposit or a major credit card. The good thing is that, any deposit you set down will be returned to you once you turn the car back over to their company.

Not every rental company offers one way car rentals, so you may have to do a bit of footwork to find one who does in your area.

Most countries around the world offer one way car rentals. They certainly are readily available across the United States, Canada and Mexico.

It is not uncommon you are allowed to pick up your rental vehicle the same day that you book. You can easily book your car rental online, and 24 hours a day.

Beware of hidden expenses when you make one way car rentals. Remember that no matter where you drop the car off, that the company is going to have to return the car to the original place that you picked it up.

For this, of course, costs time as well as money and the car rental company is going to pass that cost onto you in some form or another.

Make sure carefully read the rental terms before purchasing any rental car. You are very lucky if you can find a company that offers free drop-off rates if you check around well.

If you find a deal that sounds to be too good to be true, beware. There are unfortunately, many scam car rental sites online, so check for a phone number and location and address of the company.

Renting a car is not a difficult task. Just take sometimes to shop around a little bit before committing to any car rental company to get the lowest rate possible, and also remember to thoroughly check out the car rental company before paying any amount of money. - 21393

Tips on Choosing A Used ATV

By Mark Edwards

Rugged men who breathe the great Outdoors and love the cruising the terrain are certified ATV nuts. That said, women and children are getting hooked to the craze too, for reasons more than conventional but practical such as running errands or some leisure ride on a lazy afternoon. Truth be told, mo other vehicle can offer the riding experience an ATV can.

You might be thinking of buying one and roll into the Great Outdoors. But before you fish for your wallet, make sure you know how check the thing before you cash it out.

With a real tight economy these days, it is quite a logical move that you settle with a previously owned ATV. There's nothing wrong with buying a reconditioned quad bike. Little tweaks here and there could spell a lifetime of all terrain riding. You just have to know how to spot a good ATV inside and out.

If you really want to get your hands on a used but totally working ATV, you just need to follow these tips:

Check out for rusts. Look closely the shock mounts, intersections of frame components, inside of the gas tanks and A-arm mounts. If you find a speck of rust in these areas, you better be wary, they maybe signs of a previous stress and cracks. You will have to spend for welding and repainting to repair them.

Try to see if you can move the wheels in all directions smoothly. Do this by raising the ATV. This will also enable you to check for loose ball joints and worn out wheel bearings.

The air box under seat should not be overlooked. Take the lid off and check for dirt and water in the air box. If you spot any, better turn the offer down as the engine may be potentially damaged.

If you are looking at 4x4 ATVs, then you better check for the gear lube and CV joint boots. Chocolate brown gear lube and dilapidated joint boots are deal breakers. Unless you want to spend your cash for major repairs in the not so distant future, then look somewhere else.

Check the little essentials. Make sure the engine oil doesn't look contaminated. The handle bars, head lights, tail lights, brakes and engine shut off switch should work well.

If the parts are still in good working condition but are already too old, take note of them because they can be a reference point in negotiating the price of your soon-to-be ATV. - 21393
