Modern Features of Solid Rubber Tires

By Benedict Perez

The solid rubber tires are constructed using fundamental materials such as rubber and some molding materials along with other compound chemical for hardening to ensure compression and durability as well as long lasting endurance. These are commonly seen to be without treads and coverings as usually used in bicycles. These have gained extraordinary popularity in these days due to several developments that have affected their existence.

The use of sole solid rubber tires on heavy trucks or other huge vehicles that carry heavy loads are not practical due to the limitation on speed that must be observed when using them. With these types of running gears under the bodies of large vehicles do not last long especially in areas where the road condition is not very poor. Considering the composition and structure of these gears, the wear and tear at a shorter period is very inevitable.

Before the rubber tire had emerged, the earliest version of this running gear was simply made of metal in bands that were fitted around a wooden wheel. The use of these types of running gears in vehicles had also caused damages on the pavements. The running or driving capacity of the vehicles was quite limited due to the limitation imposed on the gears.

These are used to protect the wheels and to enable better driving performance of the vehicle. The modern solid rubber tires are built for extreme use and abusive applications where foam-filled or pneumatic tires cannot last. The modern innovations are constructed with treads and corresponding bodies. The purpose of the treads is to provide traction while the bodies ensure for their support.

If you want to know more about these types of materials for your vehicles for whatever application you have in mind, you can check online and search on the best dealers or manufacturer of these products. They have professionally trained representatives and experts who can readily address your concerns to meet your needs on solid rubber tires. - 21393

Future Promises Great Achievements In Car Industry

By Cristian Truers

The biggest change will be that cars themselves will be electric-powered, diluting the meaning of the word "automotive electronics." It's not that electricity or software will change cars but that cars themselves will become electricity, so to speak.

In other words, cars will be linked to electric power systems in the future. And it is becoming more and more likely that gasoline vehicles will change into hybrid and plug-in hybrid cars, and then into pure electric cars.

Of course, there are other possibilities like clean diesel cars and bio fuel cars though fuel-cell vehicles exist to the side of them, I would say. But trains proved one hundred years ago that electric motors are better actuators for conveyances if there is enough infrastructure to supply electricity.

When viewed in this light, the trend shifting from hybrid cars to plug-in hybrid cars and to pure electric cars is becoming more and more prominent. This trend will become even stronger after the G8 Hokkaido-Toyako Summit though it is also being influenced by soring oil price.

I mean, they will be charged with a small amount of electricity at a time and will be charged more often. In other words, they will become like trains. When cars are linked to electric power systems, their characteristics will change.

What's the difference between trains and cars? Trains move while being supplied with energy from outside. And cars run carrying most of the energy they need.

Currently, cars run 400-500km (250-313 miles) on a single fueling and at a maximum velocity of 160km (100 miles) per hour because auto makers have made efforts to develop cars that can be used anytime, anywhere and by anyone.

However, do all cars really have to have those capabilities? Considering how they are used in reality, I think many people would be satisfied with cars that can run 20km (13 miles) a day and at a maximum speed of 100km (63 miles) per hour.

The travel distance of 400-500km is long enough to drive in the mid of the Sahara desert. It does not make sense to utilize that kind of automobile in urban areas.

When I talk about a car that can store little energy, people often ask me, "what will you do if it runs out of energy?" But, how many people drive to the areas where they cannot recharge their cars until the cars stop? We just need cars that meet our needs. - 21393

Your Muffler: The Key To Quieting A Noisy Vehicle

By Ed Jamison

If your vehicle is loud enough to jolt people several streets away, your muffler may need to be replaced. It is a sophisticated part of your car's exhaust system that is often misunderstood by motorists. Most people think this component's job is limited to reducing the noise level made by the engine. However, its responsibilities expand further.

In this article, we'll take a closer look at your car's muffler and its place within the exhaust system. I'll describe its role and a few factors that can affect its ability to perform it. I'll also clarify whether you should have the part replaced at a dealership or at a local repair garage.

Understanding Its Role

To say your engine makes noise is an oversimplification. The sound is actually generated as the result of pressure waves. High-pressure molecules within gas mix with low-pressure molecules, which create alternating pulses. Those pulses form the pressure waves. There are tubes within your car's muffler that are designed to push the resulting sound waves against each other. That cancels them out and thereby, reduces the noise.

The component performs a critical role as part of your exhaust system. Besides reducing the noise level, it helps to expel hydrocarbons and other chemicals that would otherwise be harmful to you and your passengers.

Factors That Cause A Problem

Under normal circumstances, your muffler should last for years. In fact, it's not uncommon for drivers to sell their vehicles after many years of ownership without having to replace it. Having said that, there are a few factors that can impact its integrity.

For example, in states that receive a heavy volume of snow or ice, chemicals such as sodium and rock salt are used to clear away the roads. The problem is that these chemicals, when combined with magnesium chloride, can begin to corrode the metal of your muffler. Also, when you start your engine cold, a blast of exhaust shoots through the system. Because the pipes are cold, the hot exhaust creates condensation, which can lead to rust. If corrosion or rust set in, you'll eventually need to replace the part.

Should You Visit The Dealership?

You should visit your dealership if your car is still under the factory warranty. The dealer's technicians will install an OEM replacement. Also, if you're driving a foreign performance vehicle (for example, a Maserati or Lamborghini), take it to your dealer. Those cars often have exhaust systems that are specially calibrated; you should only trust it with a pro who has the right tools. Aside from those circumstances, you can feel comfortable having a local mechanic do the job. You can even do it yourself if you have the right equipment (and patience).

The important thing to remember is that your muffler is an important part of the larger exhaust system. If it suffers corrosion, rust, or other damage, have it replaced as soon as possible. - 21393

Used Car Buying: What Not To Do!

By JD Theis

If you are thinking of buying a car, then in most cases, you will get a much better return on your investment as well as value for your cash, if you buy a used model instead of a new can. However, buying a used car carries more risks than buying a new one. Identifying the major pitfalls that you may face when you buy a new car and avoiding them can lead you to a purchase that you will always be happy and satisfied with.

If you dont do several things, it can sometimes help you save money and get a lemon free deal when you buy the used car.

There are a few key things, which you must not do so that you get a good used car buying deal, such as:

Middlemen and Agents: Whole world has become a huge marketplace with the advent of the internet. It is very simple for you to keep away from the astute used car dealers and search for car sales by owners on a well regarded used cars for sale website. Since the owner in most cases is going to be a beginner just like you at selling cars, you will be able to get the car at a cheaper price, as well as not be deceived by jargon and other regular tricks of the trade. It is much better and cost saving to purchase your used car directly from the car owner.

Buying A Car Without Proper Research: When you buy a used car online, often you will be able to buy the vehicle at unthinkable prices, as compared to the brick and mortar shops. Though, the disadvantage of this is that you may not be able to test-drive the car if the owner lives far from your place, before you buy it. Whether you buy online or not, make sure that you do not end up with a lemon just because you did not do your research well. It is vital to research and it involves inspecting the features and the shortcomings of the model you are planning to buy. You should also know the estimated price of the car based on mileage, model year, accessories and features from used car authorities such as Edmunds, NADA or Kelleys. Get a Vehicle History Report to check if the car has been in any major accidents.

Not Able to Test Drive before Buying: It is true that sometimes you get a very good deal far from you stay and you may have to buy the car without being able to test- drive or check out the car. It is possible for you to visit a local car dealer and test the car model which you want to buy, to make sure that this model is appropriate for your needs. A better way of course, is to only include areas where you can in person and check out a car, before you purchase, in your online auto search. - 21393

The Versatility And Dependability Of a Golf Cart

By Gregory Paul

I worked for a customer service company a few years back. I had an officemate that lived in a subdivision less than a kilometer away from work. Beside the subdivision is the golf course where we often play in the weekends. It was always a welcome sight to see my officemate arrive at work in a cute golf cart. I can imagine the savings he makes driving that thing to work. He would always look cool as he parks his cab in the mall parking lot beside our office after work.

I realized that owning a golf cart can actually be very economical as opposed to renting one every time I play a game of golf with my friends, which happens often by the way. I can even see how one can also use it as a means of transportation around a retirement community. I can still remember how my friend goes around the huge parking lot of the mall and finding a parking space for his cart without a problem.

A new golf cart would be nice but I can also be comfortable in a used one. A brand new machine would really cost me a lot but I will be getting a full factory warranty with it. I will also be assured that I will be taking care of it properly and have regular maintenance from the first day on.

A new one would probably cost me around $5000 to $10000 depending on its features and accessories. The more add-ons, the higher the price goes. I can be extremely frugal and strip away the bare necessities and Id probably get a new one for under $5000, but I dont think Id be comfortable in that.

On the other hand, a used cart can really go easy on my pocket. I can look for a local individual party but I am not familiar with golf mechanics so that might not be a great idea. I might be able to find a local golf cart dealer that can provide me some type of repair service deal that comes with a used cab.

A used rig's cost widely fluctuates depending on the model, features, and the current condition of the equipment. I might be able to find one that is still in very good running condition. It will be a good idea to have a trusted mechanic take a look at it before i make my final decision.

Another consideration would be going for a gas or an electric powered cab. I heard that an electric golf cart is easier to maintain but I will be changing batteries every few years or so and that would cost me around $500 every time. My officemate told me that after some time, maintenance of both types works out pretty much the same so it really wouldn't matter so much.

Should I go for a new cart or an old one? Is an electric cab better that a gas powered machine? I was advised that in any type, with the proper care and regular maintenance, you can be assured of excellent performance for ten years - even more. - 21393
