Choosing Your Quikrete Garage Floor

By Quigly Garret

If you've been perusing the various Quikrete garage floor solutions, then you have likely noticed that there is no lack of options, and it's sometimes hard to tell which will be best for your garage floors. Everyone's situation is a little different, after all. In this article, we will look at the options so that you can see which would be best for your particular situation.

Quikrete High Gloss Sealer

This product is great for use on garage floors that are already in place, though it can be used straight on the concrete as well. It can even be used on masonry, slate, brick, pavers, or aggregate. Used over Quikrete garage floor epoxy, it will lend your floor a deep shine and give it even more protection from chemical stains. Used straight on your concrete garage floor, it will provide moderate protection from staining and cracking, but will not as comprehensive or as durable as epoxy garage floor paint. It costs only half as much as an epoxy paint kit, though, and is easier to install since it does not require mixing. If all you need is something to make the garage floor look shiny and offer a modicum of protection, than this might be it. Otherwise, read on.

Etching Stain

First off, stain does not provide any protection. It is only used to give the concrete color. In fact, Quikrete states that their stain must be sealed with their Quikrete Garage Floor Stain Sealer. That being said, stain is pretty neat in that it does give a the concrete a very interesting and unusual color, and this particular product is a one coat affair, making it far simpler to apply than epoxy garage floor paint. Compared to their other garage flooring solutions, Quikrete's stain is pretty pricey, and even after you add the sealant you're not getting as much protection as with epoxy paint. Use this product only if all you want is an old world looking earth-tone color on your concrete. This cannot be used on concrete that already has any other type of treatment on it. Treated concrete will have to be stripped.

Clear Epoxy Coating

Although this product can be used on the garage, it is primarily intended to be used on indoor concrete. However, if you decide to stain the concrete, this is still going to be your best protection, indoor or outdoor. It provides a fairly low gloss look, and decent protection against chemicals and the elements. It's a lot more expensive than the Quikrete garage floor high gloss sealer, though, so unless you have stained your concrete, that will be your better option.

Epoxy Garage Floor Coating

This is the most comprehensive Quikrete garage floor option. It will give you the absolute best protection and great color. The kit includes color flakes and cleaner, and is actually fairly cheap. Unless you have a specific reason to look elsewhere, this should probably be your garage flooring solution. It should be mentioned, though, that epoxy garage floor coating can be the hardest coating to install, even if it is the most durable. - 21393

Christchurch Mobile Car Valet: An Efficient Way to Boost the Value of Old Cars

By Mason Millet

Car detailing from Christchurch Mobile Car Valet has been used by car salesmen for many years to increase the price of used vehicles. Even if you do not plan to sell your car in the upcoming future, it still is a grand idea to detail your car to make it look brand new and beautiful. So, even if the car that you bought is really old and cheap, your friends and family will not understand that you bought an old and used car because of auto detailing. You are most likely wondering how detailing a car will advance the vehicle's value. Just carry on reading to know how.

Most cheap used cars are dirty and dingy. However, the vehicle will be transformed following a series of car detailing work. In fact, a lot of folks say that vehicle detailing is a vital part of car grooming. Even if you only have enough money for something simple like new carpeting and car seat covers, you will see a great step up in your motor vehicle. Of course, if you are planning to put your car up for sale, you have to pay more consideration to grooming as lots of buyer's base their decisions on the general appearance of the outside and inside of the car.

The foremost thing that you need to think about if you are planning on some car detailing is the condition of the paint. Nothing can make a car appear worse than flaking paint and rust. So treating your car to fine spray painting is like giving your motor vehicle a breath of fresh air. If you are thinking to sell your car in a couple of years, it would be wise to stick to general car colors, such as white, black, green, silver, blue or red.

Tire and wheel estimation is another car detailing practice that you need to think about. A lot of old cars contain black stains on the wheels because of tar accretion after years of brake dust. Such stains are difficult to remove, especially in very aged and filthy cars. Also, waxing your wheels can help to improve the look of your car too.

The final car detailing process that you need to take in order to make your used car look brand new is to improve the vehicle's interior. Aside from varying carpets and seat covers, it may be a superior thought to pay attention to waxing and cleaning the dashboard. You should also check if there is a need to vary certain items that are not running or broken down inside your car. - 21393

WHEN YOU SHOULD REPLACE THE AUTO WINDSHIELD

By Larry Ayala

Damage to windshields occurs most frequently to vehicles when rocks come flying from the road or other vehicles. This causes chips and damage to many windshields. Once your vehicle is damaged, you will be searching for the best auto glass Minneapolis repair company. Finding the right auto glass Minneapolis company, and one that your insurance will cover, is an important process. This article will provide information on how to know when your windshield needs to be repaired instead of replaced, as well as how to find a repair shop.

First of all, it's important to note that not all auto body repair shops can repair and replace windshields, because these are specialty procedures. For fine cracks or chips, you may not have to replace the entire windshield. Often your car insurance will cover the cost for a windshield repair.

A windshield is made up of a layer of vinyl that is sandwiched between two layers of glass. With a crack that is smaller than quarter size going through the outer layer of he windshield, it is generally repairable. Repairs obviously take less time to complete, at much lower cost than repair. When done properly, a repaired crack of windshield chip is virtually invisible. The repair consists of drilling into the chip and filling it with resin. This seals the crack, which will keep moisture out of the windshield.

If the damage to your windshield is in the driver's line of vision, then replacement is the only option. The "line of vision" is the area of the windshield directly in front of the driver. It covers a square area of about-- inches on a side. If the damage is too large to seal by injecting with resin, then replacement is your only option.

If having your windshield replaced, the process involves first removing the damaged windshield. The frame is then cleaned, coated with a bonding agent, and then replaced. It is much costlier than repairing a small crack, so keeping your windshield maintained is much less costly in the long run.

When electing to use your auto insurance to pay for windshield repair, then the law permits you to choose from any of the auto glass Minneapolis repair services to perform the work. When covered by a vehicle's comprehensive insurance policy, the repair will not usually affect rates (check with your insurance provider for your specific rules).

Before getting any work done, do some basic research and shop around for the auto glass Minnesota company that will provide the best quality for the cost. Ask other drivers, and read online reviews. Keep in mind when reading reviews that extreme reviews may be "planted" by either the company itself or competitors. Make sure there is a consistent pattern of reviews, and use that to make your list.

Verify that the repair technicians have been certified by the NGA (National Glass Association), and whether they have met the Auto Glass Replacement Safety Standards. Check to see if the repair shop will communicate with you openly and freely, making sure that your questions are answered to your satisfaction. The price is an important, but quality is also important.

The best choice of auto glass Minneapolis repair will ultimately depend on your individual needs - how big your budget is for repair and whether you have insurance. While most times cracks and chips can be repaired, it keeps your bill down. Putting off repairs or ignoring a windshield problems can cost money in the long run. In order to keep you and your passengers safe, it is imperative that you find an auto glass Minneapolis repair service that will repair your windshield with the highest level of safety and quality. - 21393

It pays to work ahead. Why wait for spring or in this case winter-time cold weather driving .

Some people and authorities will hold that all season year round radial tires are "just fine". Others will say not and that you need a distinct set of tires for the winter-time season , these are referred to as "Snow Tires". To the greatest extent it depends on what geographic areas that you live in and traverse, your climate and your driving habits and trips. You may have roadside assistance offered as part of a package from your new or used car dealer that you purchased your auto , tires or battery from , but why take the chance of inconvenience and delay ?

Relative stopping distances on ice depend somewhat on temperatures. On glare ice near freezing, stopping distances may be up to 10 times farther than on dry pavement. Snow tires under similar conditions will cut the distance to only eight or nine times the dry pavement distance to stop.

Its a case of putting out fires or management by crisis. You can bet when that on that very day of the cold snap , when the snowstorm / blizzard arrives that the wait for the CAA or AAA rescue tow truck will be hours and hours . On top of that just venture into the icy parking lot or service repair area of your local Canadian tire only to find that out the long waiting times involved for even an estimate for your vehicle. Spare yourself the inconvenience and delays that are unnecessary. Plan ahead , early for your winter tune up and to buy snow tires and winter time tyre chains long ahead of the first storm and the maddening rush.
